Another success story of Iniya Tamil
Maalai - 2014
The annual cultural & award
ceremony of NSW Federation of Tamil Schools, Iniya Tamil Maalai 2014 was held
on 5th of October 2014 at 5:00pm, Hoskins Auditorium, James Ruse
Agricultural High School.
Chief of guest for the occasion was
Mr Nadesan(Vanoli mama) and the
following distinguished guests attended the ceremony.
Dr. Geoff Lee, MP for Parramatta
represented the Premier.
Hon. Peter Primrose, shadow minister for
finance services & water represented the Opposition leader.
Mr. Thiru Thirunanthakumar, Vice President
of NSW Federation of Community Languages

The ceremony was commenced with
the lighting of traditional oil lamp by the chief guest, presidents of member
schools & the president of NSW Federation of Tamil Schools.
The event was well attended by
more than 500 people. Teachers with more than 10, 15 & 20 years of service
to Tamil teaching were honoured & also the young teachers who sat for Tamil
in HSC examination & joined the Tamil schools as teachers were honoured.
More than 200 students from member schools received their certificates who
received High distinction & Distinction in Dr Elango Memorial Tamil
Proficiency Examination.
One of the highlights of the
event was performances from member school students which brought back the
memories of ancient tamil histories.
